The Hungry Caterpillar, the Cocoon & the Beautiful Butterfly.

Caterpillar&Butterfly Costume f This week is ‘Book Week‘ all over Australia. Our school is celebrating Book Week by holding a special fancy dress parade, where students are asked to come dressed as their favorite character. This year we are honoring the popular family classic:’The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle.

The butterfly wings are backed with brown fabric so they can be wrapped around the body to form the cocoon from which the butterfly emerges. The caterpillar costume is made from a tube of stretch knit fabric with hoops inside to create the bumpy body shape.
