Halogen Angels

This project uses old blown halogen globes. Note: halogens have a glass covering and should be handled with care. The angels are for ornamental purposes only, such as hanging on a Christmas tree. They are not suitable for general play.

You will need: • blown halogen globes • small styrofoam balls • glue (PVA or a hot glue gun) • scissors • craft knife • cotton wool • decorative paper • fine felt tip marker

Paint the foam ball first or leave it plain and move on to the next step.

Use the craft knife to slice a slit into the ball. The slit helps the ball attach to the top of the globe.

Press the ball firmly onto the halogen plugs. Add some glue to the ball if it wobbles and will not stay.

Cut wings and a matching strip of paper for the waistband.

Glue the waistband around the centre of the globe and then glue the wings to the back.

Draw a face, then glue on some cotton wool for hair.

Fantastic idea! I have quite a few old bulbs dotted aorund due to blowing a lot lately, think I need an electrician to have a look at my lighting system , but until then, at least I finally have a use for the old bulbsQ
